What is Youth Council?

Our Mission statement: 
To do God's will. Nothing Less, Nothing More, Nothing Else

Our Purpose:

1. To invite youth of California-Nevada Annual Conference to be disciples of Jesus Christ, living in the Wesleyan tradition of mission, outreach, and discipleship.
2. To coordinate, along with Conference Coordinator of Youth and Camping Ministries, youth events for members of California-Nevada Annual Conference and to plan for the Youth delegation for Annual Conference.
3. To tear down walls between youth and the Church.
4. Connect youth with all levels of the United Methodist Church.

Age Requirement:
Youth entering the 9th grade through 12th grade are eligible to serve as members
of the UM Youth Council.

Membership:

Selection to the United Methodist Youth Council will be by application. Each year the UMYC will develop an application and nomination procedure that will ensure proper geographical and racial and ethnic participation on the UMYC.

The YC includes the follwoing:

• Three youth from each district
• 7 at-large youth members
• 3 adult advisors 
• Conference Coordinator of Youth Ministries 

The YC Consists of 3 Committees:

• Youth Delegation Committee
• Youth Event Committee
• Mission and outreach Committee
