| 1. |
The outer cross has 8 points, which
stands for the 8 beatitudes. Meaning, every Christian
must show these 8 qualities in his life. |
| 2. |
The 4 wings of the outer cross represents
the 4 ways Jesus grew; in stature, in wisdom, in
the favor of God and in the favor of men (Gospel
of Luke 2:52). |
| 3. |
The inner, or latin cross, is empty
(not like the crucifix which includes the body of
Christ emphasizing on His sufferings), symbolizes
the victory fo Christ over death emphasizing His
resurrection.We worship a living Christ. |
| 4. |
As the latin cross stands in the
middle of the emblem, sacrificial service stands
at the center of all what we do. |
| 5. |
The circle symbolizes our worldwide
fellowship, our fellowship with Christ and with
another. |
| 6. |
Also included in the emblem is the
UMC emblem and the map of the Philippines, symbolizing
the Methodist Church in the Philippines. |
